Delaware County Council presents a new dog locater service that will enable people to return lost dogs to their owners.

“Return a Lost Dog” is a free 24/7 service that will assist people who find a lost dog in contacting the dog’s owner immediately. “Return a Lost Dog,” a service provided through the Delaware County Treasurer’s Office, provides people with the phone contact information for a dog’s owner.

People who find a lost dog, at any time, day or night or weekends, can enter the number of the current license registration and access a phone number to reach the dog’s owner.

Only the dog’s name and phone contact are given. No individual names or addresses are available through Delaware County’s “Return a Lost Dog” service.

Only current registration numbers for dog licenses are available through the “Return A Lost Dog” service, so it is important for all dogs to have a current dog license.
